How To Install nova-scheduler on Debian 9

What is nova-scheduler
nova-scheduler is:

OpenStack Compute, codenamed Nova, is a cloud computing fabric controller designed to be modular and easy to extend and adapt. In addition to its “native” OpenStack API, it also supports the Amazon EC2 API, and it supports many different database backends (including SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL), hypervisors (KVM, Xen), and user directory systems (LDAP, SQL).

There are three methods to install nova-scheduler
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nova-scheduler Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-scheduler
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nova-scheduler
Install nova-scheduler Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-scheduler
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nova-scheduler
Install nova-scheduler Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-scheduler
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nova-scheduler
How To Uninstall nova-scheduler on Debian 9
To uninstall only the nova-scheduler
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nova-scheduler
Uninstall nova-scheduler And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nova-scheduler
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nova-scheduler
Remove nova-scheduler Configurations and Data
To remove nova-scheduler
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nova-scheduler
Remove nova-scheduler configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nova-scheduler
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nova-scheduler
