What is nova-compute-kvm
nova-compute-kvm is:
OpenStack is a reliable cloud infrastructure. Its mission is to produce the ubiquitous cloud computing platform that will meet the needs of public and private cloud providers regardless of size, by being simple to implement and massively scalable.
OpenStack Compute, codenamed Nova, is a cloud computing fabric controller designed to be modular and easy to extend and adapt. In addition to its “native” OpenStack API, it also supports the Amazon EC2 API, and it supports many different database backends (including SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL), hypervisors (KVM, Xen), and user directory systems (LDAP, SQL).
This is a dependency package for compute nodes using KVM.
There are three methods to install nova-compute-kvm
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install nova-compute-kvm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-compute-kvm
using apt-get

sudo apt-get -y install nova-compute-kvm

Update apt database with apt

After updating apt database, We can install nova-compute-kvm

Install nova-compute-kvm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-compute-kvm
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nova-compute-kvm
How To Uninstall nova-compute-kvm on Debian 11
To uninstall only the nova-compute-kvm
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nova-compute-kvm
Uninstall nova-compute-kvm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nova-compute-kvm
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nova-compute-kvm
Remove nova-compute-kvm Configurations and Data
To remove nova-compute-kvm
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nova-compute-kvm
Remove nova-compute-kvm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
