How To Install nova-api-metadata on Ubuntu 18.04

What is nova-api-metadata
nova-api-metadata is:
OpenStack is a reliable cloud infrastructure. Its mission is to produce the ubiquitous cloud computing platform that will meet the needs of public and private cloud providers regardless of size, by being simple to implement and massively scalable.
OpenStack Compute, codenamed Nova, is a cloud computing fabric controller. In addition to its “native” API (the OpenStack API), it also supports the Amazon EC2 API.
This package provides the metadata API backend for guest VMs.
There are three methods to install nova-api-metadata
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nova-api-metadata Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-api-metadata
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nova-api-metadata
Install nova-api-metadata Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-api-metadata
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nova-api-metadata
Install nova-api-metadata Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-api-metadata
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nova-api-metadata
How To Uninstall nova-api-metadata on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the nova-api-metadata
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nova-api-metadata
Uninstall nova-api-metadata And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nova-api-metadata
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nova-api-metadata
Remove nova-api-metadata Configurations and Data
To remove nova-api-metadata
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nova-api-metadata
Remove nova-api-metadata configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nova-api-metadata
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nova-api-metadata
