How To Install notify-osd on Kali Linux

What is notify-osd
notify-osd is:
The Desktop Notifications framework provides a standard way of doing passive pop-up notifications on the Linux desktop. These are designed to notify the user of something without interrupting their work with a dialog box that they must close. Passive popups can automatically disappear after a short period of time.
There are three methods to install notify-osd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install notify-osd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install notify-osd using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install notify-osdInstall notify-osd Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install notify-osd using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install notify-osdInstall notify-osd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install notify-osd using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install notify-osdHow To Uninstall notify-osd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the notify-osd package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove notify-osdUninstall notify-osd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall notify-osd and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove notify-osdRemove notify-osd Configurations and Data
To remove notify-osd configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge notify-osdRemove notify-osd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
