What is nordugrid-arc-client

NorduGrid is a collaboration aiming at development, maintenance and support of the free Grid middleware, known as the Advanced Resource Connector (ARC). For the regular user of any ARC-based computational grid, this client package contains (or depends on) all packages that are needed to submit jobs, query their status and retrieve results.

We can use yum or dnf to install nordugrid-arc-client on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install nordugrid-arc-client.

Install nordugrid-arc-client on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install nordugrid-arc-client using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install nordugrid-arc-client

Install nordugrid-arc-client on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install nordugrid-arc-client using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install nordugrid-arc-client

How To Uninstall nordugrid-arc-client on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the nordugrid-arc-client package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove nordugrid-arc-client
