How To Install nordugrid-arc on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install nordugrid-arc on CentOS 8.
What is nordugrid-arc
NorduGrid is a collaboration aiming at development, maintenance and support of the middleware, known as the Advanced Resource Connector (ARC). The ARC middleware is a software solution that uses distributed computing technologies to enable sharing and federation of computing resources across different administrative and application domains. ARC is used to create distributed infrastructures of various scope and complexity, from campus to national and global deployments.
We can use yum or dnf to install nordugrid-arc on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install nordugrid-arc.
Install nordugrid-arc on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install nordugrid-arc using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install nordugrid-arc
Install nordugrid-arc on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install nordugrid-arc using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install nordugrid-arc
How To Uninstall nordugrid-arc on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the nordugrid-arc package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove nordugrid-arc
