How To Install node-watchpack on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-watchpack on Kali Linux.

What is node-watchpack

node-watchpack is:

The watchpack high level API doesn’t map directly to watchers. Instead a three level architecture ensures that for each directory only a single watcher exists.

This library is a dependency for webpack. Webpack takes code targeted at node.js and makes it run in the browser. Node.js comes with API of its own that is not available in the browsers. Webpack exposes this code to programs that are unaware they are running in a browser.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-watchpack on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-watchpack Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-watchpack using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install node-watchpack using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-watchpack

How To Uninstall node-watchpack on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-watchpack package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-watchpack

To uninstall node-watchpack and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-watchpack

To remove node-watchpack configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-watchpack
