How To Install node-url-parse on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-url-parse on Kali Linux.

What is node-url-parse

node-url-parse is:

The url-parse method exposes two different API interfaces. The url interface that you know from Node.js and the new URL interface that is available in the latest browsers.

Since 0.1 we’ve moved away from using the DOM’s element for URL parsing and moving to a full Regular Expression solution. The main reason for this change is to make the URL parser available in different JavaScript environments as you don’t always have access to the DOM like Worker environments. This module still have a really small foot print as this module’s main intention is to be bundled with client-side code. The only problem however with a RegExp based solution is that it required a lot of lookups causing major problems in FireFox. So the last and the current solution was a pure string parsing solution which chops up the URL in smaller pieces.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-url-parse on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-url-parse Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-url-parse using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-url-parse

Install node-url-parse Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-url-parse using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-url-parse

Install node-url-parse Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-url-parse using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-url-parse

How To Uninstall node-url-parse on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-url-parse package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-url-parse

Uninstall node-url-parse And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-url-parse and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-url-parse

Remove node-url-parse Configurations and Data

To remove node-url-parse configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-url-parse

Remove node-url-parse configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove node-url-parse configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-url-parse
