How To Install node-umd on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install node-umd on Kali Linux.
What is node-umd
node-umd is:
UMD (Universal Module Definition) is a common pattern used in javascript programming allowing one to write once a loader working in different context (server, browser). This loader is compatible with different API like RequireJS, AMD or CommonJs.
This module provides:
- simple synchronous wrapping of a string
- return style module support
- CommonJS support
- support preventing internal UMDs from conflicting
Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
There are three methods to install node-umd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-umd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-umd using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-umdInstall node-umd Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-umd using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-umdInstall node-umd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-umd using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-umdHow To Uninstall node-umd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the node-umd package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-umdUninstall node-umd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-umd and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-umdRemove node-umd Configurations and Data
To remove node-umd configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-umdRemove node-umd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-umd configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-umdDependencies
