How To Install node-tap on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-tap on Kali Linux.

What is node-tap

node-tap is:

Utilities for writing test harnesses complying with TAP output format.

TAP is a simple text-based interface between testing modules implemented in many popular languages.

This package includes leaf package node-bind-obj-methods, node-fs-exists-cached, node-function-loop, node-own-or, node-own-or-env, node-trivial-deferred, node-tsame, node-yapool

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-tap on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-tap Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-tap using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-tap

Install node-tap Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-tap using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-tap

Install node-tap Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-tap using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-tap

How To Uninstall node-tap on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-tap package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-tap

Uninstall node-tap And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-tap and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-tap

Remove node-tap Configurations and Data

To remove node-tap configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-tap

Remove node-tap configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove node-tap configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-tap
