How To Install node-sane on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install node-sane on Kali Linux.
What is node-sane
node-sane is:
Sane aims to be fast, small, and reliable file system watcher. It does that by:
- By default stays away from fs polling because it’s very slow and cpu intensive
- Uses
fs.watchby default and sensibly works around the various issues - Maintains a consistent API across different platforms
- Where
fs.watchis not reliable you have the choice of using the following alternatives: - the facebook watchman library (embedded)
- the watchexec library (embedded)
- polling
There are three methods to install node-sane on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-sane Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-sane using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-saneInstall node-sane Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-sane using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-saneInstall node-sane Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-sane using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-saneHow To Uninstall node-sane on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the node-sane package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-saneUninstall node-sane And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-sane and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-saneRemove node-sane Configurations and Data
To remove node-sane configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-saneRemove node-sane configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-sane configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-saneDependencies
