How To Install node-parse-asn1 on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-parse-asn1 on Kali Linux.

What is node-parse-asn1

node-parse-asn1 is:

utility library for parsing asn1 files for use with browserify-sign.

This library is a dependency for webpack. Webpack takes code targeted at node.js and makes it run in the browser. Node.js comes with API of its own that is not available in the browsers. Webpack exposes this code to programs that are unaware they are running in a browser.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-parse-asn1 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-parse-asn1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install node-parse-asn1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-parse-asn1

How To Uninstall node-parse-asn1 on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-parse-asn1 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-parse-asn1

To uninstall node-parse-asn1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-parse-asn1

Remove node-parse-asn1 Configurations and Data

To remove node-parse-asn1 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-parse-asn1

Remove node-parse-asn1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove node-parse-asn1 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-parse-asn1
