How To Install node-less on Ubuntu 18.04

on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is node-less
node-less is:
Node is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
LESS is a meta-language on top of CSS that’s used to describe the style of a document cleanly and structurally, with more power than flat CSS allows. LESS both provides a simpler, more elegant syntax for CSS and implements various features that are useful for creating manageable stylesheets.
less.js is the reference implementation of LESS, written in JavaScript.
This package contains less.js usable as Node module, and the script lessc for statically compiling LESS data into CSS.
There are three methods to install node-less
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-less Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-less
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-less
Install node-less Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-less
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-less
Install node-less Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-less
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-less
How To Uninstall node-less on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the node-less
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-less
Uninstall node-less And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-less
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-less
Remove node-less Configurations and Data
To remove node-less
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-less
Remove node-less configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
