How To Install node-es6-shim on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-es6-shim on Kali Linux.

What is node-es6-shim

node-es6-shim is:

The es6-shim library monkey-patches a JavaScript context to contain all ECMAScript 6 (Harmony) methods that can be faithfully emulated with a legacy JavaScript engine.

The es6-sham part tries to complete the picture as best as possible, but for those methods the result is not as close and mostly intends to avoid runtime errors : in many cases it might just silently fail.

After updating apt database, We can install node-es6-shim using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-es6-shim

How To Uninstall node-es6-shim on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-es6-shim package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-es6-shim

To uninstall node-es6-shim and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-es6-shim

To remove node-es6-shim configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-es6-shim
