How To Install node-encoding on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-encoding on Kali Linux.

What is node-encoding

node-encoding is:

encoding is a simple wrapper around node-iconv (https://github.com/bnoordhuis/node-iconv) and iconv-lite (https://github.com/ashtuchkin/iconv-lite/) to convert strings from one encoding to another. If node-iconv is not available for some reason, iconv-lite will be used instead of it as a fallback.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-encoding on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-encoding Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-encoding using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-encoding

Install node-encoding Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-encoding using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-encoding

Install node-encoding Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-encoding using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-encoding

How To Uninstall node-encoding on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-encoding package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-encoding

Uninstall node-encoding And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-encoding and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-encoding

Remove node-encoding Configurations and Data

To remove node-encoding configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-encoding

Remove node-encoding configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove node-encoding configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-encoding
