What is node-dirty

node-dirty is:

Node is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

Dirty.js is a tiny & fast key value store with append-only disk log. It is ideal for apps with less than 1 million records. Its characteristics are:

  • the file format is newline separated JSON;
  • the database lives in the same process as the application, they share memory;
  • there is no query language, you just forEach through all records.

There are three methods to install node-dirty on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-dirty Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-dirty using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-dirty

Install node-dirty Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-dirty using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-dirty

Install node-dirty Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-dirty using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-dirty

How To Uninstall node-dirty on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-dirty package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-dirty

Uninstall node-dirty And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-dirty and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-dirty

Remove node-dirty Configurations and Data

To remove node-dirty configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-dirty
