How To Install node-depd on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-depd on Kali Linux.

What is node-depd

node-depd is:

This module goes above and beyond with deprecation warnings by introspecting the call stack (but only the bits that it is interested in).

Instead of just warning on the first invocation of a deprecated function and never again, this module will warn on the first invocation of a deprecated function per unique call site, making it ideal to alert users of all deprecated uses across the code base, rather than just whatever happens to execute first.

The deprecation warnings from this module also include the file and line information for the call into the module that the deprecated function was in.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-depd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-depd Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-depd using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-depd

Install node-depd Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-depd using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-depd

Install node-depd Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-depd using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-depd

How To Uninstall node-depd on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-depd package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-depd

Uninstall node-depd And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-depd and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-depd

Remove node-depd Configurations and Data

To remove node-depd configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-depd
