How To Install node-defaults on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install node-defaults on Kali Linux.
What is node-defaults
node-defaults is:
A simple one level options merge utility. This module exports a function that takes 2 arguments: options and defaults. When called, it overrides all of undefined properties in options with the clones of properties defined in defaults. Sidecases: if called with a falsy options value, options will be initialized to a new object before being merged onto.
Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
There are three methods to install node-defaults on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-defaults Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-defaults using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-defaultsInstall node-defaults Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-defaults using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-defaultsInstall node-defaults Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install node-defaults using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-defaultsHow To Uninstall node-defaults on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the node-defaults package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-defaultsUninstall node-defaults And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-defaults and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-defaultsRemove node-defaults Configurations and Data
To remove node-defaults configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-defaultsRemove node-defaults configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-defaults configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-defaultsDependencies
