How To Install node-config on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-config
on Debian 12.
What is node-config
node-config is:
Node-config organizes hierarchical configurations for application deployments.
It allows defining a set of default parameters, and extend them for different deployment environments (development, qa, staging, production, etc.).
Configurations are stored in configuration files within an application, and can be overridden and extended by environment variables, command line parameters, or external sources.
There are three methods to install node-config
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-config Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-config
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-config

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-config
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-config
Install node-config Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-config
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-config
How To Uninstall node-config on Debian 12
To uninstall only the node-config
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-config
Uninstall node-config And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-config
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-config
Remove node-config Configurations and Data
To remove node-config
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-config
