How To Install node-catty on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-catty on Kali Linux.

What is node-catty

node-catty is:

Catty is the source file concatenator for Mapshaper.

Some features:

• Each source file lists its dependencies in a formatted comment. There is no manifest, unlike some other tools.
• Concatenated files are (optionally) wrapped in a self-executing function, to protect the global namespace.
• Catty can monitor source files and regenerate output files when a required source file changes.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-catty on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-catty Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-catty using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-catty

Install node-catty Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-catty using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-catty

Install node-catty Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-catty using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-catty

How To Uninstall node-catty on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the node-catty package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-catty

Uninstall node-catty And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-catty and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-catty

Remove node-catty Configurations and Data

To remove node-catty configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-catty
