What is nextpnr-generic

nextpnr-generic is:

nextpnr aims to be a vendor neutral, timing driven, FOSS FPGA place and route tool.

nextpnr-generic allows running placement and routing for arbitrary custom architectures. It is more experimental than nextpnr-ice40.

There are three methods to install nextpnr-generic on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install nextpnr-generic Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install nextpnr-generic using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install nextpnr-generic using apt by running the following command:
