How To Install netpipe-lam on Debian 9

What is netpipe-lam
netpipe-lam is:
NetPIPE is a protocol independent performance tool that encapsulates the best of ttcp and netperf and visually represents the network performance under a variety of conditions. By taking the end-to-end application view of a network, NetPIPE clearly shows the overhead associated with different protocol layers. NetPIPE answers such questions as: how soon will a given data block of size k arrive at its destination? Which network and protocol will transmit size k blocks the fastest? What is a given network’s effective maximum throughput and saturation level? Does there exist a block size k for which the throughput is maximized? How much communication overhead is due to the network communication protocol layer(s)? How quickly will a small (< 1 kbyte) control message arrive, and which network and protocol are best for this purpose?
This package measures network performance using the MPI protocol, a Message Passing Interface frequently used in parallel processing, and which uses in turn TCP as its underlying transport. The implementation of the MPI standard used by this package is that provided by the lam set of packages.
There are three methods to install netpipe-lam on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install netpipe-lam Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install netpipe-lam using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install netpipe-lam
Install netpipe-lam Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install netpipe-lam using apt by running the following command:

Install netpipe-lam Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install netpipe-lam using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install netpipe-lam
How To Uninstall netpipe-lam on Debian 9
To uninstall only the netpipe-lam package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove netpipe-lam

To uninstall netpipe-lam and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:

To remove netpipe-lam configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
