How To Install netdata-core on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install netdata-core on Kali Linux.
What is netdata-core
netdata-core is:
Netdata is distributed, real-time, performance and health monitoring for systems and applications. It provides insights of everything happening on the systems it runs using interactive web dashboards.
This package contains the minimal core build with SSE2 optimizations for current systems.
There are three methods to install netdata-core on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install netdata-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install netdata-core using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install netdata-coreInstall netdata-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install netdata-core using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install netdata-coreInstall netdata-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install netdata-core using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install netdata-coreHow To Uninstall netdata-core on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the netdata-core package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove netdata-coreUninstall netdata-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall netdata-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove netdata-coreRemove netdata-core Configurations and Data
To remove netdata-core configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge netdata-coreRemove netdata-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove netdata-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge netdata-coreDependencies
