It is a resource efficient, highly optimized system for collecting and visualizing any type of realtime time-series data, from CPU usage, disk activity, SQL queries, API calls, web site visitors, etc. netdata tries to visualize the truth of now, in its greatest detail, so that you can get insights of what is happening now and what just happened, on your systems and applications.

We can use yum or dnf to install netdata on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install netdata.

Install netdata on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install netdata using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install netdata

Install netdata on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install netdata using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install netdata

How To Uninstall netdata on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the netdata package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove netdata
