How To Install netbox on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install netbox on AlmaLinux 8.
What is netbox
NetBox is an IP address management (IPAM) and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tool. Initially conceived by the network engineering team at DigitalOcean, NetBox was developed specifically to address the needs of network and infrastructure engineers. It is intended to function as a domain-specific source of truth for network operations.
We can use yum or dnf to install netbox on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install netbox.
Install netbox on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install netbox using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install netbox
Install netbox on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install netbox using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install netbox
How To Uninstall netbox on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the netbox package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove netbox
