How To Install neomutt on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install neomutt on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is neomutt
neomutt is:
Neomutt supports all the features that are supported by Mutt, including POP and IMAP support, SSL encryption and SASL authentication, threading and GPG support. On the top of that, neomutt provides:
- Notmuch: a mail indexing tools that provides advanced features such as full-text search, thread reconstruction and added features.
- Color attachment headers using regex, just like mail bodies.
- Custom rules for theming the mail index.
- NNTP support.
- Visual progress bar for slow operations.
- Trash folder.
There are three methods to install neomutt on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install neomutt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install neomutt using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install neomutt
Install neomutt Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install neomutt using apt by running the following command:

Install neomutt Using aptitude

To uninstall only the neomutt package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove neomutt
Remove neomutt Configurations and Data
To remove neomutt configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge neomutt

We can use the following command to remove neomutt configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
