How To Install neat on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install neat on Kali Linux.

What is neat

neat is:

NEAT analyses lists of emission line fluxes measured from the spectra of photoionised nebulae such as planetary nebulae and HII regions. It determines the extinction, and then adopts a three zone model to determine temperatures, densities, and ionic and total abundances, from collisionally excited lines and recombination lines. It calculates uncertainties if required, using a Monte Carlo technique.

There are three methods to install neat on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install neat Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install neat using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install neat
