Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ncview
on CentOS 7.
What is ncview
Ncview is a visual browser for netCDF format files. Typically you would use ncview to get a quick and easy, push-button look at your netCDF files. You can view simple movies of the data, view along various dimensions, take a look at the actual data values, change color maps, invert the data, etc.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install ncview
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ncview.
Install ncview on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install ncview
using yum
by running the following command:
Install ncview on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
