The curses library routines are a terminal-independent method of updating character screens with reasonable optimization. The ncurses (new curses) library is a freely distributable replacement for the discontinued 4.4 BSD classic curses library. This package contains C++ bindings of the ncurses ABI version 6 libraries.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install ncurses-c++-libs
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ncurses-c++-libs.
Install ncurses-c++-libs on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install ncurses-c++-libs
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install ncurses-c++-libs
Install ncurses-c++-libs on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install ncurses-c++-libs

sudo yum -y install ncurses-c++-libs
How To Uninstall ncurses-c++-libs on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the ncurses-c++-libs
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove ncurses-c++-libs
