Nagstamon is a Nagios status monitor which takes place in systray or on desktop (GNOME, KDE) as floating statusbar to inform you in realtime about the status of your Nagios and some of its derivatives monitored network. It allows one to connect to multiple Nagios, Icinga, Opsview, Centreon, Op5Monitor, Check_MK Multisite, Thruk, Zabbix and Zenoss servers. Events could be handled by instant access to failed hosts/services.

There are three methods to install nagstamon on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install nagstamon Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install nagstamon using apt-get by running the following command:
