What is nagios-plugins-openmanage
check_openmanage is a plugin for Nagios which checks the hardware health of Dell servers running OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA). The plugin can be used remotely with SNMP or locally with NRPE, check_by_ssh or similar, whichever suits your needs and particular taste. The plugin checks the health of the storage subsystem, power supplies, memory modules, temperature probes etc., and gives an alert if any of the components are faulty or operate outside normal parameters.
We can use yum or dnf to install nagios-plugins-openmanage on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install nagios-plugins-openmanage.

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install nagios-plugins-openmanage using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install nagios-plugins-openmanage
Install nagios-plugins-openmanage on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install nagios-plugins-openmanage using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install nagios-plugins-openmanage
How To Uninstall nagios-plugins-openmanage on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the nagios-plugins-openmanage package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove nagios-plugins-openmanage
