How To Install nagios-nrpe-server on Kali Linux

What is nagios-nrpe-server
nagios-nrpe-server is:
Nagios is a host/service/network monitoring and management system.
The purpose of this addon is to allow you to execute Nagios plugins on a remote host in as transparent a manner as possible.
This program runs as a background process on the remote host and processes command execution requests from the check_nrpe plugin on the Nagios host.
There are three methods to install nagios-nrpe-server on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nagios-nrpe-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nagios-nrpe-server using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nagios-nrpe-serverInstall nagios-nrpe-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nagios-nrpe-server using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nagios-nrpe-serverInstall nagios-nrpe-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To remove nagios-nrpe-server configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nagios-nrpe-serverRemove nagios-nrpe-server configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
