What is mythtvfs

mythtvfs is:

mythtvfs implements a human-readable filesystem on top of an existing MythTV tree. It communicates with the MythTV backend to fill in the recording details, so that recordings can be browsed easily with applications that do not natively communicate with MythTV backends.

mythtvfs is based on FUSE (userspace filesystem framework for Linux), thus you will have to prepare the fuse kernel module to be able to use it.

There are three methods to install mythtvfs on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mythtvfs Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

To remove mythtvfs configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge mythtvfs
