In this tutorial we learn how to install myproxy-voms on Rocky Linux 8.

What is myproxy-voms

MyProxy is open source software for managing X.509 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security credentials (certificates and private keys). MyProxy combines an online credential repository with an online certificate authority to allow users to securely obtain credentials when and where needed. Users run myproxy-logon to authenticate and obtain credentials, including trusted CA certificates and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs). Package myproxy-voms contains runtime libs for MyProxy to use VOMS.

We can use yum or dnf to install myproxy-voms on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install myproxy-voms.

Install myproxy-voms on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install myproxy-voms using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install myproxy-voms

Install myproxy-voms on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install myproxy-voms using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install myproxy-voms

How To Uninstall myproxy-voms on Rocky Linux 8

To uninstall only the myproxy-voms package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove myproxy-voms
