What is mvapich23-psm2

MVAPICH2 is a Message Passing Interface (MPI 3.0) implementation based on MPICH and developed by Ohio State University. This is a version of mvapich2 2.3 that uses the PSM2 transport for Omni-Path adapters.

We can use yum or dnf to install mvapich23-psm2 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mvapich23-psm2.

Install mvapich23-psm2 on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install mvapich23-psm2 using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install mvapich23-psm2

Install mvapich23-psm2 on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install mvapich23-psm2 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mvapich23-psm2

How To Uninstall mvapich23-psm2 on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the mvapich23-psm2 package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove mvapich23-psm2
