What is munin-plugins-core
munin-plugins-core is:
Munin is a highly flexible and powerful solution used to create graphs of virtually everything imaginable throughout your network, while still maintaining a rattling ease of installation and configuration.
This package contains the official plugins for the Munin node, capable of extracting common values such as cpu usage, network usage, load average, and so on.
Creating your own plugins which are capable of extracting other system-specific values is very easy, and is often done in a matter of minutes. You can also create plugins which relay information from other devices in your network that can’t run Munin, such as a switch or a server running another operating system, by using SNMP or similar technology.
Munin is written in Perl, and relies heavily on Tobi Oetiker’s excellent RRDtool. To see a real example of Munin in action, you can follow a link from http://munin-monitoring.org/ to a live installation.
There are three methods to install munin-plugins-core
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install munin-plugins-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install munin-plugins-core
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install munin-plugins-core
Install munin-plugins-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install munin-plugins-core
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install munin-plugins-core
Install munin-plugins-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install munin-plugins-core
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install munin-plugins-core
How To Uninstall munin-plugins-core on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the munin-plugins-core
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove munin-plugins-core
Uninstall munin-plugins-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall munin-plugins-core
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove munin-plugins-core
Remove munin-plugins-core Configurations and Data
To remove munin-plugins-core
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge munin-plugins-core
Remove munin-plugins-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove munin-plugins-core
