How To Install mudlet on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install mudlet on Debian 9.
What is mudlet
mudlet is:
A completely redesigned MUD (Multi User Dungeon) client that is easy to use and customise. Both power users and plain gamers alike will feel at home with Mudlet, without having to waste too much timer figuring out how to do something.
Mudlet is designed to be very fast and efficient right from the start. Its scripting engine is designed to handle thousands of lines under one second. The scripting framework uses Lua - a small, fast and efficient scripting language.
There are three methods to install mudlet on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mudlet Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mudlet using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mudlet
Install mudlet Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install mudlet using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mudlet
Install mudlet Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install mudlet using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mudlet
How To Uninstall mudlet on Debian 9
To uninstall only the mudlet package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mudlet
Uninstall mudlet And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mudlet and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mudlet
Remove mudlet Configurations and Data
To remove mudlet configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mudlet
Remove mudlet configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
