How To Install msmtp on Ubuntu 20.04

on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is msmtp
msmtp is:
msmtp is an SMTP client that can be used to send mails from Mutt and probably other MUAs (mail user agents). It forwards mails to an SMTP server (for example at a free mail provider), which takes care of the final delivery. Using profiles, it can be easily configured to use different SMTP servers with different configurations, which makes it ideal for mobile clients.
This package is compiled with SASL and TLS/SSL support.
There are three methods to install msmtp
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install msmtp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install msmtp
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install msmtp

Install msmtp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install msmtp
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install msmtp
How To Uninstall msmtp on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the msmtp
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove msmtp
Uninstall msmtp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall msmtp
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove msmtp
Remove msmtp Configurations and Data
To remove msmtp
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge msmtp
Remove msmtp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove msmtp
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge msmtp
