How To Install mplayer-gui on Ubuntu 18.04

What is mplayer-gui
mplayer-gui is:
MPlayer plays most MPEG, VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV, QT/MOV/MP4, FLI, RM, NuppelVideo, yuv4mpeg, FILM, RoQ, PVA files, supported by many native, XAnim, RealPlayer, and Win32 DLL codecs. It can also play VideoCD, SVCD, DVD, 3ivx, RealMedia, and DivX movies.
Another big feature of MPlayer is the wide range of supported output drivers. It works with X11, Xv, DGA, OpenGL, SVGAlib, fbdev, DirectFB, but also SDL.
This package includes the GUI variant of MPlayer.
There are three methods to install mplayer-gui
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install mplayer-gui
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install mplayer-gui
How To Uninstall mplayer-gui on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the mplayer-gui
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mplayer-gui
Uninstall mplayer-gui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mplayer-gui
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mplayer-gui
Remove mplayer-gui Configurations and Data
To remove mplayer-gui
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mplayer-gui
Remove mplayer-gui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mplayer-gui
