How To Install mp4v2-utils on Ubuntu 18.04

The MP4v2 library provides an API to create and modify mp4 files as defined by ISO-IEC:14496-1:2001 MPEG-4 Systems. This file format is derived from Apple’s QuickTime file format that has been used as a multimedia file format in a variety of platforms and applications. It is a very powerful and extensible format that can accommodate practically any type of media.
MP4v2 was originally bundled with mpeg4ip library, but has been moved into its own maintained library due to a combination of the cessation of support of mpeg4ip and the usefulness of this library on its own.
This package contains the command line frontends.
There are three methods to install mp4v2-utils on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mp4v2-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mp4v2-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

How To Uninstall mp4v2-utils on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the mp4v2-utils package we can use the following command:

To uninstall mp4v2-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mp4v2-utils

To remove mp4v2-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mp4v2-utils
Remove mp4v2-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mp4v2-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
