What is mozjs38
JavaScript is the Netscape-developed object scripting language used in millions of web pages and server applications worldwide. Netscape’s JavaScript is a super set of the ECMA-262 Edition 3 (ECMAScript) standard scripting language, with only mild differences from the published standard.
We can use yum or dnf to install mozjs38 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mozjs38.
Install mozjs38 on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install mozjs38 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mozjs38
Install mozjs38 on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install mozjs38 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mozjs38
How To Uninstall mozjs38 on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the mozjs38 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mozjs38
