What is mono-data

This package provides a Mono assembly to facilitate data access and manipulation with databases, LDAP compatible directory servers and/or XML data exchange. Beyond the ADO.NET, Novell.LDAP and System.DirectoryServices assemblies, it also includes a command line sql application as well as the Microsoft SQL Server and ODBC data providers.

We can use yum or dnf to install mono-data on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mono-data.

Install mono-data on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install mono-data using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install mono-data

Install mono-data on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install mono-data using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mono-data

How To Uninstall mono-data on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the mono-data package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove mono-data
