What is mono-complete
The Mono Project is an open development initiative that is working to develop an open source, Unix version of the .NET development platform. Its objective is to enable Unix developers to build and deploy cross-platform .NET applications. The project will implement various technologies that have been submitted to the ECMA for standardization. Install everything built from the mono source tree. Note that this does not install anything from outside the mono source (XSP, mono-basic, etc.).
We can use yum or dnf to install mono-complete on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mono-complete.
Install mono-complete on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install mono-complete using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mono-complete
Install mono-complete on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install mono-complete using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mono-complete
How To Uninstall mono-complete on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the mono-complete package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mono-complete
