How To Install mongrel2-core on Debian 12

What is mongrel2-core
mongrel2-core is:
Mongrel2 is an application, programming language, and network architecture agnostic web server that focuses on web applications using modern browser technologies.
Mongrel2 supports 17 languages and platforms, HTTP, Flash sockets, WebSockets, Long Polling, and many ways to deploy and hack on it.
This package includes the server binaries but doesn’t contain all the infrastructure needed to setup a standalone web server.
There are three methods to install mongrel2-core on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mongrel2-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mongrel2-core using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mongrel2-core
Install mongrel2-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install mongrel2-core using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mongrel2-core
Install mongrel2-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install mongrel2-core using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mongrel2-core
How To Uninstall mongrel2-core on Debian 12
To uninstall only the mongrel2-core package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mongrel2-core
Uninstall mongrel2-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mongrel2-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mongrel2-core
Remove mongrel2-core Configurations and Data
To remove mongrel2-core configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mongrel2-core
Remove mongrel2-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mongrel2-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
