How To Install mongoose on Ubuntu 20.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install mongoose on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is mongoose
mongoose is:
Suitesparse is a collection of libraries for computations involving sparse matrices.
Mongoose is a graph partitioning library that can quickly compute edge cuts in arbitrary graph. Given a graph with a vertex set and edge set, an edge cut is a partitioning of the graph into two subgraphs that are balanced (contain the same number of vertices) and the connectivity between the subgraphs is minimized (few edges are in the cut).
This package contains the standalone executable.
There are three methods to install mongoose on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mongoose Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mongoose using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mongoose
Install mongoose Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install mongoose using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mongoose
Install mongoose Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install mongoose using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mongoose
How To Uninstall mongoose on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the mongoose package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mongoose
Uninstall mongoose And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mongoose and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mongoose
Remove mongoose Configurations and Data
To remove mongoose configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mongoose
Remove mongoose configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mongoose configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge mongoose
