What is mod_auth_ntlm_winbind
The mod_auth_ntlm_winbind module allows authentication and authorisation over the Web against a Windows NT/AD domain controllers, using Samba on the same machine Apache is running on. It uses “ntlm_auth” helper utility to operate with local winbindd(8) daemon, which are standard parts of the Samba distribution. The same way Squid does NTLM authentication now.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mod_auth_ntlm_winbind
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mod_auth_ntlm_winbind.
Install mod_auth_ntlm_winbind on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
