What is mistral-event-engine

mistral-event-engine is:

Mistral is a workflow service. Most business processes consist of multiple distinct interconnected steps that need to be executed in a particular order in a distributed environment. One can describe such process as a set of tasks and task relations and upload such description to Mistral so that it takes care of state management, correct execution order, parallelism, synchronization and high availability. Mistral also provides flexible task scheduling so that it can run a process according to a specified schedule (i.e. every Sunday at 4.00pm) instead of running it immediately. Such set of tasks and relations between them is called a workflow.

This package contains the Event Engine.

There are three methods to install mistral-event-engine on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mistral-event-engine Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install mistral-event-engine using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install mistral-event-engine

Install mistral-event-engine Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install mistral-event-engine using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install mistral-event-engine

Install mistral-event-engine Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install mistral-event-engine using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install mistral-event-engine

How To Uninstall mistral-event-engine on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the mistral-event-engine package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove mistral-event-engine

Uninstall mistral-event-engine And Its Dependencies

To uninstall mistral-event-engine and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mistral-event-engine

Remove mistral-event-engine Configurations and Data

To remove mistral-event-engine configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge mistral-event-engine

Remove mistral-event-engine configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove mistral-event-engine configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge mistral-event-engine
