In this tutorial we learn how to install mistral-api on Ubuntu 18.04.

What is mistral-api

mistral-api is:

Mistral is a workflow service. Most business processes consist of multiple distinct interconnected steps that need to be executed in a particular order in a distributed environment. One can describe such process as a set of tasks and task relations and upload such description to Mistral so that it takes care of state management, correct execution order, parallelism, synchronization and high availability. Mistral also provides flexible task scheduling so that it can run a process according to a specified schedule (i.e. every Sunday at 4.00pm) instead of running it immediately. Such set of tasks and relations between them is called a workflow.

This package contains the API server.

There are three methods to install mistral-api on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mistral-api Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install mistral-api using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install mistral-api

Install mistral-api Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install mistral-api using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install mistral-api

Install mistral-api Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install mistral-api using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install mistral-api

How To Uninstall mistral-api on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the mistral-api package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove mistral-api

Uninstall mistral-api And Its Dependencies

To uninstall mistral-api and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mistral-api

Remove mistral-api Configurations and Data

To remove mistral-api configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge mistral-api

Remove mistral-api configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove mistral-api configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge mistral-api
