How To Install minidlna on Ubuntu 18.04

What is minidlna
minidlna is:
MiniDLNA (aka ReadyDLNA) is server software with the aim of being fully compliant with DLNA/UPnP-AV clients.
The minidlna daemon serves media files (music, pictures, and video) to clients on your network. Example clients include applications such as totem and xbmc, and devices such as portable media players, smartphones, and televisions.
MiniDLNA is a simple, lightweight alternative to mediatomb, but has fewer features. It does not have a web interface for administration and must be configured by editing a text file.
There are three methods to install minidlna on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install minidlna Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install minidlna using apt-get by running the following command:

Install minidlna Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install minidlna using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install minidlna
Install minidlna Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install minidlna using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install minidlna
How To Uninstall minidlna on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the minidlna package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove minidlna
Uninstall minidlna And Its Dependencies
To uninstall minidlna and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove minidlna
Remove minidlna Configurations and Data
To remove minidlna configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge minidlna
Remove minidlna configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove minidlna configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge minidlna
