What is mingw64-libtiff
The libtiff package contains a library of functions for manipulating TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) image format files. TIFF is a widely used file format for bitmapped images. TIFF files usually end in the .tif extension and they are often quite large. The libtiff package should be installed if you need to manipulate TIFF format image files.
We can use yum or dnf to install mingw64-libtiff on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mingw64-libtiff.
Install mingw64-libtiff on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-libtiff using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mingw64-libtiff
Install mingw64-libtiff on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-libtiff using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mingw64-libtiff
How To Uninstall mingw64-libtiff on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the mingw64-libtiff package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mingw64-libtiff
